✕ ┊I don’t ship Hirogo for obvious reasons. But you know what I do ship? Unrequited feelings. 

Ok so, you know how Hiro kind of blushes and nervously chuckles when he first meets Gogo, and then at the end of the movie they’re goofing around and she pushes him and stuff? You know what would be cute is if Hiro did have a bit of a crush on her — because that’s what a healthy 13-14 y/o teenaged boy should be doing. He’s at the age where it’s appropriate. It’s funny because Gogo isn’t that much taller than him though she’s several years older, and I honestly don’t think she would mind so long as it’s controlled. I could see her joking with him being all like ‘I see you like older women lol’.

Gogo doesn’t strike me as being the type to go for someone she knew when the person was a kid, or the kid brother of one of her closest friends, for that matter; it’d be creepy, to be honest. I’ve always imagined her seeing Hiro as her little brother, and because of the headcanon I have about her being an only child, the little brother she never had or always wanted — because Tadashi was like a brother to her ( in my headcanon, they knew each other way back in high school like ride or die for life ), and now that he’s gone, she’s not replacing Tadashi by any means, because loved ones can never be replaced, but it’s important to Gogo to be like that older sibling to Hiro and remind him of Tadashi and what he stood for, what he would want for him. There’s also the sass dynamic. 

So if Hiro did have a smol crush on Gogo, she would be appreciative and humor him a little. She’d be flattered because it’s not every day that someone isn’t scared off by her neutral expression and has the courage to approach her without being distasteful or creepy. It’s a compliment. But he’s also a child, and people are so gross with kids now, she doesn’t want to be a part of that, not even under suspicion. So if he started giving her stuff or going out of his way, she would feel uncomfortable and feel that as a legal adult, it’s her responsibility to put an end to it —  because she already feels awkward seeing that it’s becoming something serious, and it can only get even more awkward from there. She’d tell him “look, I appreciate what you’re doing, but I love you like a brother”; probably not in those exact words, but then Gogo hasn’t ever really been great with words and tends to serrate people with them anyway, so she’d have to find some way to let him down as gently as she can and do her best to say the right thing. She doesn’t want their friendship to be destroyed and she doesn’t believe in stringing people along or devastating them without good reason. If Hiro did end up feeling crappy about it, disappointed or embarrassed, I’m sure Gogo would see that and try to reassure him that it isn’t anything to be ashamed of, that it’s ok, that he did nothing wrong or unordinary, and that she still loves him. Which would probably make Hiro feel comfortable to the point that when he crushes on someone else, Gogo would be the first to know and he’d go to her for advice. And that’s ultimately the kind of relationship Gogo wants with Hiro, one of confidence. That’s not to say that the other team members aren’t chill or trustworthy, because they are. But even if it cuts sometimes, and whether or not he freely admits it, I’m sure Hiro would want that kind of blunt, straightforward opinion like ‘look, this is what you need to do, or what you could do, but I would play it by ear, and I highly recommend NOT doing this because you’ll look like an ass, I’m telling you right now’ — and Gogo doesn’t hesitate. She is the Mom Friend™ of the group.  She also cusses a lot, and people who tend to cuss a lot are usually pretty honest people. Hell, if anything, she’s the one Hiro could go and bitch to and swear without fear of having to deposit money into a cuss jar. Cuss buddies are the best buddies.
